Annual COLT Round Up Meeting in December at Caesars Palace

On December 16 & 17, 2024, the Coalition of Large Tribes will be having the annual meeting at the Caesars Palace. During this meeting we will have an election for the Chair (2 years term) and Vice Chair (1 year term).

Consistent with our COLT Charter and practice, both will be held simultaneously so nominations will be for both seats and multiple Tribal Leaders can be nominated for either the Chair or Vice-Chair, the same candidate cannot be nominated for both, so each candidate must decide which seat they will be seeking. Each voting Tribe can only nominate 1 (one) person for Chair and Vice-Chair (Two nominations total, although only Voting Members may serve as Officers—this provision means that a Tribe may only hold one seat on the Executive Board at a time).

Once nominations cease, each voting member Tribe will only have one vote to cast for the Chair and one vote for the Vice-Chair. (Both seats will be on same ballot), the votes will be by secret ballot and each Voting Member Tribe may place one vote for Chair and Vice Chair on that ballot. The Secretary or their designee will count the ballots out loud before the Voting Member Tribe and the candidate with the majority votes will be seated.

In case of a tie the two candidates with the majority votes will be voted upon again by the Voting Member Tribes. The candidate with the Majority vote will be seated. If a second tie occurs the winner will be selected by a flip of a coin by the Secretary.
